We came back!
And, while there, I managed to shoot a bunch of photos, mostly of Old Shanghai or what's left of it.
It was really great to see good friends again, send WeiMin off to get married to a nice lady, and gobble up as much food and old shanghai photos as possible.
See you lot next time around!!

#31 i took a little excursion to the north. I wanted to take a photo of a neighborhood with the gigantic Yangpu bridge. I messed up the development on this photo but it's still an interesting view I think. The bridge is massive - the pylon is the background is 223m tall, and the bridge spans more than eight kilometers.

#32 still in the same neighborhood - above the tiny alleyway you can just about see the deck of the feeder road leading to the bridge.

#33 Old Shanghai lives it it's quiet side streets. This is one of them. Unfortunately there is't all that much life left - most of the buldings are now empty shells waiting for demolition.

#34 on a walk around the areas surrounding the Museum of Natural History i ran into these guys. They like Germany, they like Merkel, they like old buildings and they LOVE to smoke cigarettes.

#35 all across town you still see those banners, outlawing the setting off of private fireworks for the Chinese New Year Festival. I remember trying to get a view of the city one year, just that you couldn't see a thing because of all the smoke.
